A passion for Lagrein
Christoph Unterhofer from Reyter Hof farm has travelled down a few paths: he has been farming organically since 1996 and has been using bio-dynamic methods on his Lagrein grapes in the Bozen valley basin since 2014. He grows bright salmon pink wine named Lakrez and the Rahm wine in deep Lagrein red. He conscientiously tends double hundred-year-old pergolas in Kaltern and Tramin of Vernatsch vines that were planted in 1920 and 1950. His latest project is in Dorf Tirol, going by the name of Muskaris. This is a white, fungus-resistant variety – a so-called PIWI vine.
